One of the many myths about mediation is that it is not suited to matters of public policy because the process is confidential.

As with all the elements of mediation, from the agreement to mediate to the confidential status of the settlement agreement, they can all be negotiated by the parties with the guidance of the mediator.

This report is a good example of how parties can agree to make the settlement agreement public and demonstrates the potential for tangible progress in these times of great uncertainty.
